I’ll be providing tips and tricks from industry experts and hiring mangers, as well as providing some insight into the new technologies that are being introduced by HR teams. By learning how these technologies work you’ll be able to better prepare for interviews, and stand out with digital applications and digital interviewing skills.
A little about me, before coming to videoBIO I graduated from Queen’s University with a degree in Film and Theatre Studies. So how did I end up here? Well, as much as I enjoyed making Films and Theatre at school, career-wise these industries didn’t provide me with the kind of work life balance I wanted. So I took the skills I learned from these fields, and thought to myself, “Geez, I guess I’m completely unemployable.” Well, I like making things for people to enjoy, but I don’t like limiting myself to one medium either. With a little reflection and some course correction I was able to figure out how I could apply my skills differently in an area that was in high demand. Enter the world of Digital Content. Bringing together my creative and digital skills with technology and process I was able to apply for a role that required my skills in a way I hadn’t thought of before.
What I’m trying to say is that if I can find a career doing something I love so can you! Because odds are your skills are more employable than mine! So I hope you enjoy this blog, and I hope it helps you find that job you love.
